RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN FOOD SECTOR TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFE

As part of the EXPO 2020 Project (now postponed to 2021) and in light of the Covid-19 emergency, the Center is carrying out a study having as its object the effect of the lockdown on the sustainability and healthiness of individuals' eating habits.

To this end, an online questionnaire has been prepared and recently published for the collection of data, designed precisely to investigate the correlations between lockdown and the binomial sustainability-health.

Research activity based on RRI strategy

Best4food tackle scientific and applied research set of problems with a strategy of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The team of experts will make operative proposals defining the researchers involved, the pursued strategies, the project timetable and the expected results. The research proposals can be submitted by universities, research centres, enterprises, consortia and individuals. May participate as partner or consultant in national and international research projects and collaborate in the planning of research projects.

 

Joint labs and Joint actions

Joint Lab represent an operational space where the collaboration between research and enterprises become concrete. BEST4Food provides the access at co-working areas within the University of Milano-Bicocca with the purpose of realizing industrial R&D activities.These platforms will ensure the access to academic research and researchers’ knowledge together with the possibility to activate facilitated research activities such as industrial PhD and RTD A research contract. 

Technology Transfer action

Spin-off, start-up, patent. BEST4Food, through industrial and applied research actions, will support the development of patent and services sharable with partner and enterprises.In the case of interest for specific services or patents the University will sign personalized agreement with the partner. Moreover UNIMIB support shared industrial initiatives such as the creation of spin-off with industrial partners or other research centres. In this context BEST4Food may offers technical skills in the planning and realization of spin-off and innovative start ups.
