Guilty or innocent? Does it put our health at risk or extend our lives? Coffee takes the stand in a hypothetical courtroom staged on Wednesday, 4 February (5:30–8:30 pm) at the Fondazione Feltrinelli (Multipurpose Hall). During the event “Trial of Coffee”, organized by the Order of Physicians and Dentists of Milan, the prosecution and the defense take the floor, along with witnesses and a jury—all “played” by leading figures from the scientific and legal communities. Among them are Fabio Roia, President of the Milan Court; Filippo Anelli, President of the National Federation of Orders of Surgeons and Dentists, together with Secretary Roberto Monaco and Director Pierluigi Vecchio; magistrate Tiziana Siciliano; as well as gastronomists and physicians. Giving body and voice to coffee is Carlos Bitencourt, founder of Cafezal Specialty Coffee Roasters. The event is open to everyone (registered physicians will receive continuing education credits). Taking part in the prosecution is our Professor Laura Prosperi, Director of Best4Food.
