Research activities and skills

The research activity is devoted to the study of natural products derived from medicinal or edible plants. The approach combines pharmacological and phytochemical investigations to connect a biological effect to a specific chemical entity. The main areas of interest are the anti- inflammatory and antioxidant effects of dietary polyphenols in the gastro-intestinal tract, and the effect of polyphenols derived from plants against skin inflammatory diseases.
